posted a message a while ago saying we were looking for a chalet in Withernsea - we bought one on Golden Sands at the beginning of the summer and have had a great time - Ok. so it may be a bit windy or cool on some days but it's still a good place to be. The people are quite friendly and laid back though, let's be honest.there are some issues as there are everywhere.
This is a great website - lets get some dialogue going - Withernsea is still slipping further into decline - Let's not let it go!

Just found the site, has reminded me of some happy memories - quite nostalgic especially the outdoor pool. We left in 1977 but continue to visit family and friends.

On behalf of my wife Alison Davies and her brother Malcolm and sister Hillary, I am posting this notice to let others know that their mother, Phyllis G. Davies passed away on July 22, 2009 after suffering a stroke. Phyllis resided in Withernsea all her life and was employed as Mid-Wife and Public Health Nurse in East Yorkshire while raising her three children and re-married late in life to Mr. Peter G. Stocks. I had the privilege of spending time in Withernsea with Phyllis and Peter on a number of occasions. She was worldly, had a brilliant mind and was generous to a fault supporting many local charities and national/international humanitarian causes. Funeral arrangements are being arranged for Friday July 31, 2009 and will be posted in the Gatzette.
